NEWS FROM THE HILL Wink

Just a quick update on some great things happening at Oak Hills!

First we have started our restoration project on hole #17. We have moved the bridge on the leftside of the green even further left. It will be in use until we complete the project. We are building a wooden bulkhead on both sides of the creek. We are going to make the creek about 12 yards wide. We will back fill in behind the bulkhead to create a more playable situation on both sides of the creek. This will mean we will be reshaping the slope in front of the green. It will allow us to drain the wet areas short of the green and thus improve playing conditions considerably. We will then move the cart path to the left side of the green. As we work on this project we are also going to reroute the course back to the original layout. Hole #11 will become hole #17. We are going to build a new bridge on hole # 10 that will lead across the ravine and up to the new number 11 which is currently the 12th hole.

Weather permitting, these changes should be complete by the first of April. Once complete the changes will help the pace of play and eliminate an unsafe area as golfers cross #11 to get to #18. The new #16 will be one of the best holes in Columbia! We are very excited to finally begin this project. Please be patient with the temporary conditions in these two areas.

We are putting together a yardage guide for Oak Hills which will reflect all of the course changes, including the change in handicap of individual holes. These will be on sale in the proshop. We are entering a great time at the club and will continue to work hard for the membership and customers.

The tournament season is off to a great start and our next event is scheduled for Feb. 21st. ( It will be a modified alternate shot event)
